General Summary of Position:
The College of Health Sciences is a dynamic, growing College that prepares professionals and scientists in a wide range of health science fields including applied, clinical and translational areas. Faculty research ranges from the lab bench to clinical interventions and community projects. A large research program with significant funding and vibrant community partnerships and engagement opportunities enrich and support our educational programs.

The Associate Dean will perform a wide variety of academic administrative activities and provide support to the College. The Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies will work closely with the College's leadership team of department chairs and associate deans, as well as collaborate with Associate Deans across the campus. The expectation is that the Associate Dean will:

*Work closely with the Dean and other associate and assistant deans within the college and across the campus to implement the core values and strategic plans of the College of Health Sciences.
*Facilitate individual and collaborative research opportunities in the college and across the University.
*Provide support for faculty and organize events to promote enhanced instruction, research collaborations and external relationships.
*Assist faculty with grant applications and post award activities.
*Implement policies that promote and enhance the graduate education and research enterprise of the College.
*Provide support in the development and implementation of new graduate academic programs and the revision of existing programs.
*Develop College-wide efforts around faculty development and mentoring with a focus on curriculum, instruction and research.
*Assist with enrollment management activities and retention efforts of graduate students.
*Lead efforts to recruit high-quality graduate students to grow the doctoral programs and to expand master's enrollments.
*Ensure College compliance with University research regulations.
*Provide oversight of space utilization and equipment procurement processes for all units in the College.
*Represent the College in University-wide meetings and events.
*Collaborate with leaders across the University and allied colleges on initiatives of importance to Health Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-Terminal degree in a health sciences or public health discipline or in a closely related field
-Tenured Associate or Full Professor
-Strong record of research and publication
-Proven success as a skilled educator
-Administrative/leadership experience in an academic environment
-Commitment to promoting a culture that nurtures diverse forms of inquiry and scholarship
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Other Considerations:
-Achievements commensurate with a tenured appointment including national recognition as a scholar
-Experience with professional accreditation
-Experience in fostering interdisciplinary research initiatives
-Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English
