GRANTS COORDINATOR A/B
Duties: The Grants Coordinator in the Department of Neurology will provide pre and post award research and financial administration support for individual investigators and grant manager staff within department. Responsibilities include preparing all grant reports for grant manager review and distribution, proposal preparation, budget development, subcontract setup and monitoring, transaction approval and monitoring, reporting, and business services for research investigators.
Grants Coordinator A will work on primarily R01, R21 and K type grants with supervision of senior staff members. Gain knowledge and skills to function as a resource for sponsored program guidelines, policies and procedures from current Grant Managers.
Grants Coordinator B will independently work on R01, R21 and K type grants as well as negotiate budgets with pharmaceutical companies and industry . Act as liaison with School of Medicine administration, Research Services and Penn Center for Innovation.
This position reports to the senior administrator within department and has a dotted reporting line to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.
Qualifications: Grants Coordinator A - The minimum of an Associate's Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Grants Coordinator B - The minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. The Grants Coordinator B will be expected to have a financial background and prior experience with Grant accounting and the ability to work more independently.
Strong skills in spreadsheet, database, and word processing software are required. Experience with PennERA, BEN Financials, Pennworks and Business Objects is strongly preferred. Knowledge of sponsored research guidelines and policies is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required. Ability to work independently, under pressure of deadlines, demonstrates attention to detail and a proactive work style are required.
