ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PENN ICE RINK
Duties: The Associate Director, Penn Ice Rink is a full-time, year round, monthly paid position. The position manages a 3,000-seat facility open 18+ hours per day, 7 days a week with an NHL-sized sheet of ice requiring significant maintenance, financial, investment, staff management, and operational oversight. Responsibilities include management of all aspects of the programming offered at the Penn Ice Rink, including contract negotiation & execution. Incumbent is required to be readily available to respond to customer concerns and to lead business development and community engagement activities. Industry knowledge and experience should be heavily in programming. This position must be visible to clients and staff, while providing assistance enforcing all University policies within the facility.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree plus 2-3 years of experience in Ice Rink programming and operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of 3-5 years of experience is strongly preferred. Certified Rink Manager (CRM) certification preferred. Certified Ice Technician (CIT) or Certified Rink Administrator (CRA) certification preferred, with progress toward attaining Certified Rink Manager (CRM) desirable. Demonstrated supervisory experience required. Budget and retail sales reconciliation experience required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional staff management skills are essential, including experience hiring, training, coaching & disciplining. Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse customer base. Previous Sales and business development skills desirable.
