Position Summary: This position under direct supervision of the police records manager will review, input and process police related reports as well as inventory and track police evidence. The selected candidate will assist with answering telephone inquiries and requests; provide backup assistance with monitoring the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) and assist in maintaining an accurate and orderly filing system of police records and supplies. Duties include, but are not limited to: process report envelopes that come in from the court officer and Detective Bureau; process reports at records level in task and assignments; lookup a police report by subjects name; process public roadway accident reports (UD-10 reports); enter paper citations; divide reports that contain reportable offenses with non-reportable offenses; respond to administrative message requests from other departments; run out of state plate queries; run criminal histories for officers; run criminal back ground checks for new employees; run driver's license queries; monitor the LEIN terminal to cover breaks/lunches; enter impounded / abandoned vehicles for parking; enter stolen vehicles; enter stolen property; enter PPO & Bond Conditional Release Orders; complete monthly Q log; complete monthly validation; answer phones; assist callers with requesting a copy of a police report; sort and deliver mail; pull reports and supporting documents for FOIA requests; ink fingerprint customers per their request; file of police reports; fax documents. All home football games are mandatory; work inside of the stadium where needed; process all citations that officers write during their football assignment.
Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate's degree in a business-related field or in a field which corresponds to the particular department of employment; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software and/or desktop publishing, web page software; office procedures, or in performing responsibilities related to the operational activities of the employing unit; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
