Summary of Duties
Staffs the Flight Training Center Dispatch area and dispatches aircraft to students, instructors and staff members while ensuring that all requirements of the department's policies and procedures are followed. Uses the Aviation Information Management System (AIMS) flight program to fulfill various functions. Maintains student accounts, including the creation of new accounts and receives payments. Fuels, tugs, and cleans aircraft. Ensures that canopies are cleaned and that aircraft is maintained on schedule. Accommodates and monitors local practice areas for all active flights. Maintains the flight schedule and tracks and coordinates required maintenance inspections. Maintains and operates Aviation Science line equipment. Provides emergency assistance and incident response and other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, or GED Equivalent and six months related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of safety procedures and programs required to operate FAA Part 61 and Part 141 certified pilot schools, as well as basic flight operations.

Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), requirements for student pilots, weather minimums, night flight requirements and endorsements.

Skills in computers and computer applications.

Interpersonal human relations, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Ability to work under high stress situations and in hazardous environments.

Ability to withstand exposure to weather extremes and potentially adverse tarmac conditions.

Ability to adhere to the Aviation Science Dispatch dress code to include proper safety clothing, polo shirt, and winter wear.

Ability to lift 30lbs and manually manipulate aircraft in aircraft hangars.
