Summary of Duties
Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Academic Outreach and Economic Development, performs complex and highly confidential administrative tasks and/or oversees a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, staff support, and planning activities some of which require advanced or specialized knowledge and skills such as budget administration and facilities, and inventory management, specialized record-keeping and database management, and/or specified information-gathering projects and tasks. Coordinates and facilitates meetings, program functions, and/or special events, as appropriate. Trains and oversees lower graded staff and/or students.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties or an associate’s degree and three years of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling five years.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of office methods, techniques practices and procedures.

Knowledge of how to operate office equipment i.e. printers, copiers, fax, multi-line phones, etc.

Knowledge of computer programs, applications, databases typically used in an office settings; and the internet, including website, and social media applications.

Knowledge of standard office procedures, methods, and techniques.

Skills in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and databases.

Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Skills in creation and interpretation of charts, tables, spreadsheets, and reports.

Skills in coordinating, planning, and organizing small to large-scale events.

Skills in multi-tasking and complex activities.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.

Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.

Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Ability to meet and work with the people of diverse backgrounds.

Ability to coordinate and assist in the preparation and monitoring of departmental financial transactions.

Ability to work independently on a multi-task level, prioritize and follow projects through to successful completion.
