Primary Function of Organization Unit: The mission of the Department of Health and Exercise Studies is to educate a globally diverse NC State population regarding the benefits of living a healthy and physically active lifestyle by providing equal opportunities and professional preparation in sport, fitness, health, and recreation.

Essential Job Duties: The Department of Health and Exercise Studies (HES) seeks applicants for a full-time Lecturer position for the upcoming Fall semester. The successful candidate will possess strong teaching and evaluation skills with an interest in physical fitness. This position will teach an estimated eight courses per semester with a focus on health and fitness related classes in the 100-level course offerings. Additional responsibilities will include equipment planning and procurement for areas of expertise, in addition to departmental and university committee participation. North Carolina State University is a land-grant university and home to about 35,000 students and is situated in the piedmont region of North Carolina. The Department of Health and Exercise Studies is part of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Minimum Education/Experience: Master's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or closely related field. Position requires ability, interest, and experience in teaching courses from the physical fitness / skills courses.

Department Required Skills: Candidates must have expertise in teaching several of the following courses: fitness (run conditioning, swim conditioning, aerobics, yoga, Pilates, weight training, indoor group cycling), racquet sports, and aquatics (swim instruction).

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Doctorate in Physical Education, Recreation, or equivalent.

Necessary Licenses and Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification is required and must be maintained.
