RESEARCH SPECIALIST B
Duties: Candidate will assist in neurodegenerative disease research using established and novel techniques in biochemistry, immunocytochemistry, and molecular biology. The candidate will be expected to work using sterile cell culture techniques to generate, maintain, and analyze both primary cultures and cell lines (eg. preparation of materials, dissection and plating, feeding, transfection, transduction, staining, and imaging). The candidate will be expected to work maintain one or more transgenic mouse lines, including breeding, genotyping and precise record keeping. The candidate must be able to work within a team environment. Multi-tasking is key and other duties will include maintenance of equipment, preparation of stock laboratory reagents, and keeping an organized, up to date laboratory notebook. Candidate will be expected to attend and present at regular laboratory meetings and take part in activities of the Center.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: BA/BS in Biology/Neuroscience or related field and 2to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.The ability to work in a team environment is essential. Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
