Duties: The Assistant Director will coordinate and execute special projects, events, conferences, fellowships and training programs of Penn China-U.S. Global Leadership and China-U.S. Partnerships for Educational Advancement and Cultural Exchange (PEACE) initiative, and will lead, develop, and maintain the China-U.S. PEACE student and alumni society that represents Penn's 2,100 Chinese national students.

The Assistant Director will work with the directors to support all aspects of Global Leadership and Problem Solving (GLPS) programs operated in partnership with Fox Leadership International (FLI) and LPS, including a summer residential global leadership program for Chinese undergraduates, and a prospective year-round academic degree-granting program.

The Assistant Director will serve as a point of contact for Fox with Mandarin and Cantonese speaking higher education and business executives, and will coordinate all Fox-related international travel logistics to/from and within China.

The Assistant Director will serve as a point of contact with Penn offices related to operational functions of the Fox Program such as IT, websites, event planning, facilities and access. The Assistant Director will participate in the development of publications and videos produced by the Fox Program including drafting documents and helping to design the reports.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of work experience, preferably in a higher education setting, are required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.. A Master's degree in public administration is strongly preferred. The Assistant Director must be fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and must have excellent computer skills including proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

The Assistant Director must have experience working in degree, certificate, or other university-based programs, preferably in both America and in China, that involve Chinese and/or American students in educational and cultural exchange initiatives that promote cross-national, problem-solving learning on issues such as energy sustainability or health care or eldercare services. Ability to travel internationally on an as needed basis is required. Some evening and weekend work is required.
