Job Summary: This position will be working with the Administrative Assistant in Residential Life. The job includes answering phone calls from students, parents and other offices that need our assistance, taking detailed messages, organizing files, and completing small tasks for the Res Life staff (ie. posters, spreadsheets, bulletin boards, taking inventory, placing work orders with the facilities dept., etc.). The assistant is the face of the office during their shift and will welcome and attend to guests who stop in. It is a very busy office.
Please note: This position does not offer summer on-campus housing as part of the job.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma; general computer and office skills.
Preferred Qualifications: We're looking for candidates who have confident phone skills, are comfortable with multi-tasking and who can stay focused in an environment that varies from quiet to loud and full of distractions. Knowledge of the campus and the basic role of Residential Life is preferred, as many phone calls are looking for information about the college. The person in this position should be a responsible individual, able to work independently and capable of handling confidential matters.
