Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is required. Master’s degree or higher required in Respiratory Care, Education, Health Care or other related field, is strongly preferred.  Master’s degree must be earned within 3 years after date of hire.  In addition, active Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, and current (or eligibility) Georgia and Tennessee State licenses to practice Respiratory Therapy required. Candidates should have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, of which at least two (2) years should have been spent in clinical respiratory care and preferably at least two (2) years in a teaching position in an accredited respiratory program. Formal teacher training and experience is recommended. Candidates should have extensive knowledge/ experience working in most areas of respiratory care including pediatrics, intensive care, management, training and education. 

Excellent spoken/written English communication skills and a commitment to teaching and service excellence.  The position includes teaching and clinical responsibilities, student advisement, student recruitment activities, planning/assessing courses and programs, clinical coordination, providing service to the college/community, professional development, and other responsibilities assigned by program director or chair.
