Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy and Program Director
Master’s degree or higher required in Respiratory Care, Education, Health Care or other related field, active Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, and current (or eligibility) Georgia and Tennessee State licenses to practice Respiratory Therapy required. The Program Director should have a minimum of four years’ experience as a Registered Therapist, of which at least two years should have been spent in clinical respiratory care and preferably, at least two years in a teaching position in an accredited respiratory care program. Formal teacher training and experience is recommended. Candidates should have extensive knowledge/ experience working in most areas of respiratory care including pediatrics, intensive care, management, training and education.
Excellent spoken/written English communication skills and a commitment to teaching and service excellence. The position includes teaching responsibilities in both the AAS and BS Respiratory Therapy programs, student advisement, student recruitment activities, planning/assessing courses and programs, the organization, administration, periodic review, continued development of the programs and the faculty, providing service to the college/community, professional development, and other responsibilities assigned by the chair.
