The Department of Religious Studies at Bucknell University invites applications for a visiting position in South Asian Religions/Hinduism, to begin in August 2017. This position is available as a result of leave replacement, with the possibility of renewal for a second year subject to satisfactory performance.

Teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Asian Religions, Hinduism, Religions of South Asia, and other courses in the candidate's areas of interest. Teaching load is six courses for the academic year (three per semester). Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. by start date.

The Department of Religious Studies at Bucknell serves majors and minors pursuing the academic study of religion, as well as a large number of students from other majors. The ideal candidate will be a teacher-scholar with an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to the study of South Asian religions, and with a demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity and the liberal arts mission.
