Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Availability to work evenings and/or weekends
Effective and accurate written communication skills
Attention to detail
Experience working with ethnically diverse student populations
Effective time management skills -prioritize multiple tasks and adhere to time action plans
Experience coordinating a variety of activities and working as part of a team
Experience working independently
Experience with computer systems and/or personal computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with social media in a professional setting

Preferred Qualifications:
General knowledge of Texas State University
Two or more years of prior experience in college admission, higher education marketing, or closely related experience
An understanding of high school transcripts, college transcripts, or statistical reports
Experience developing and/or editing hard/soft copy publications
Experience working with web content and/or content management systems
Experience with Adobe software suite
Bilingual Spanish
Experience with event coordination

Job Description:
This position assists in the development and maintenance of social media, recruitment materials, campaign/communication flow planning, and management of the website for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Additionally, this position is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and enrolling prospective students through extensive travel to Texas high schools and two-year colleges within an assigned territory; counseling prospective students and families in the college selection process. This includes assisting with university programming (campus visit days, bus trips and information sessions); reading admission files and making admission decisions; extensive contact and collaboration with high school and community college students, high school counselors, college advisors, university alumni and other community organizations; evaluating academic credentials; communicating admission decisions; assisting faculty and other departments in recruitment efforts; and completing other duties as assigned. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; some overnight, weekend and/or evening work is required.

Job Duties:
Within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, responsibilities include assisting in the development and maintenance of social media outreach; assisting with the editing and development of recruitment publications; assisting with the planning of the Undergraduate Admission communication flow; traveling within Texas to recruit new freshman and transfer students; counseling prospective students and parents; evaluating academic credentials; communicating admission decisions; implementing on- and off- campus recruitment programs; preparing correspondence and statistical reports; assisting faculty and other departments in recruitment efforts and other duties as assigned.
