Assistant Football Coach (Part Time)

Part Time Assistant Football Coach will be responsible for; coaching a specified offensive or defensive position group.

Department: Athletics: Football

Bachelor’s degree required plus one year previous coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level, or 3 years progressively responsible experience at the high school level or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA and C.A.C. guidelines Demonstrated skills in developing and motivating students both athletically and academically Strong commitment to the values of a liberal arts education Understanding of teacher/coach model in a NCAA Division III athletics program Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and in writing. Proficiency in computer use and relevant Microsoft applications. Valid driver license with good driving record required; must be insurable.

Physical Requirements:
Evening and weekend hours in all types of weather, with travel between campuses necessary. Lifting required (ie., set-up of scorers table, etc.), some manual labor is expected. Because of the location of athletic facilities on each campus, organizing and some transportation between campuses is expected.

Essential Functions:
Directly responsible for developing practice plans for position group Assist with practice planning, game planning, game scouting, game preparation as required by Assistant Coach /Coordinator and head football coach Identify and recruit quality student-athletes, both nationally and locally, who meet the high standards established by Stevenson University. Assist with the daily administrative duties of the program Participate in fundraising and public relations activities Responsible for developing and disseminating rules related to the expected conduct of football athletes when they are representing Stevenson University, both on- and off-campus. Promote the welfare and academic progress of student-athletes Ensure compliance of the program with University, NCAA, and CAC rules Assist with development of high school and youth level summer camps. Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program; to include adhering to and enforcing all Departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the University, and the NCAA. Provides leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, to include counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, when appropriate.
