Finance/Budget Professional II
Provides analytical support for complex budget projects; prepares operational budgets for depts.; recommends changes to systems and procedures to ensure conformance with budgetary provisions; other related tasks as required.
Review budget amendments to determine accuracy of funding, class, program, fund code and position number.
Assist and respond to department heads, business managers and other campus personnel with budget responsibility with regards to their budgets. Research and resolve inquiries from business managers and department heads. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, developing supporting schedules and analysis. Use SAS reports for analysis and forecasting. Assists in SAS training and help users campus wide in developing and running reports. Monthly tracking of position vacancy lag. This includes creating and posting the journals. Tracking, analyzing and monitoring of fixed costs including utilities, rents and insurance. Monitoring of revenues and expenses and updating revenues periodically.
Review and analysis of elective fees, updating BOR website annually and with new fees.
Review usage of elective fees to determine if spending is aligned to purpose.
Review of Business plans and projections to ensure they are in line with the proposed budget for the fee.
Monthly review of various KSU business units to determine trends. This includes Premium programs and revenue generating programs to ensure revenue generated is sufficient to cover anticipated expenses.
Review usage of elective fees to determine if spending is aligned to purpose. Additionally, develop and maintain waiver analysis and its impact on revenue.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 5-6 years experience.
