Staff Psychologist/Counselor (10 Month Position)
- Providing short-term individual, couples, and group counseling
- Evaluating and responding to students in crisis during and after business hours
- Consulting with faculty, staff, parents, and health care providers
- Delivering outreach programs to the community on topics related to counseling and mental health
- Training student leaders
- Participating in meetings and committees of the Division of Campus Life
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be licensed or license-eligible as a mental health professional in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, hold a masters or doctoral degree in counseling, counseling/clinical psychology, or social work from an accredited institution, and have experience working with young adults. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a college or university counseling center and who have experience and demonstrated commitment to providing culturally-aware counseling to persons of color, members of the GLBTQ community, low income individuals, and/or first generation college students. Candidates should be dedicated to ongoing professional development and to working collaboratively with colleagues in and out of the Center.
About the Center: The Counseling Center provides high quality counseling, educational programs, and psychological assessments designed to help students learn how to identify and meet their intellectual, interpersonal, and developmental goals and to promote a healthy, equitable, and positive campus community. The Center also provides crisis intervention and consultation to faculty, staff, and parents to assist them in their efforts to promote student learning and well-being.
