Duties: Seeking bright, motivated, highly organized self-starter with strong administrative, organizational and event planning skills. This position will provide high level administrative coordination of departmental educational and academic activities and support the Vice Chair of Basic Research.
* Coordinate Departmental Duhring Weekly Medical Grand Rounds.
* Coordinate Departmental Duhring Lectureship Series and related events.
o Coordinate guest lecturer visits to include hotel and conference room scheduling; travel arrangements and processing of guest lecturer reimbursements. Prepare itinerary for Duhring Lecturers to include meetings with individual faculty and residents.
o Coordinate all logistical details to ensure successful meeting, oversee annual CME/CNE application and related compliance, ensuring weekly approval is obtained and maintaining detailed records.
o Work with Department Leadership to coordinate special dinners and events to accompany select lecture series. Coordinator will prepare for the execution of professional events to ensure all runs smoothly and will be available to troubleshoot any last minute issues that might arise.
* Provide high level administrative support to Vice Chair. Additional responsibilities include:
o Coordinate Departmental meetings on behalf of Vice Chair, including annual working group meetings, retreats, presentation days and research faculty meetings. Work closely with Vice Chair to coordinate all events and administrative activities for the SBDRC.
o Assist in preparing correspondence, including drafting, editing and proof-reading supplementary grant materials, letters of support and additional documents as needed.
* Complete special projects as assigned and provide general administrative assistance support to the faculty.
Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. An Associate's Degree or two year college equivalent preferred.
