The Center for Cell Signaling at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Associate (postdoc) to work in the laboratory of Bryce Paschal, Ph.D. on studies of nuclear transport in human disease. Possible projects include the role of kinase signaling and nuclear transport in epilepsy; nuclear lamina and chromatin structure in Progeria; and ubiquitin E3 ligases and transcription in prostate cancer. The successful candidate must have a recent Ph.D. in a discipline such as biochemistry, cell biology, or neuroscience; direct experience with cell signaling, cell culture, and molecular biology; one or more publications in peer-reviewed journals; outstanding oral communication and writing skills; and the capacity to interact with and supervise trainees in the lab.
