Posting Summary:
The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Scientist to work in the laboratory of Dr. John C Herr. This individual will work as a cell and reproductive translational researcher bridging basic reproductive biology with gynecological oncology to study reproductive tumors and develop immunotherapeutic agents and companion diagnostics.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Applied Biology, postdoctoral experience in reproductive cancer biology and have extensive experience in immunological methods such as immunohistochemistry, IIF, Western blotting and be well versed with molecular biology techniques. The candidate must be able to demonstrate skills with small animal handling, production of antibodies, establishing tumor xenograft models, and tumor cell killing assays. The candidate should also have a strong background in female reproductive biology, particularly uterine and ovarian biology, and experience in reproductive tumors is preferred. Candidate must be able to work independently and guide research students.
