Posting Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia and University Children's Hospital seeks candidates for a Pediatrician (tenure eligible, tenure in-eligible or tenured) to serve as the Clinical Director for the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Program. The incumbent will oversee all inpatient and outpatient clinical activities, develop program plan and expand clinical investigation within the Stem Cell Transplant Program. The selected candidate integrates novel clinical protocols within the Stem Cell Transplant Program and works collaboratively with colleagues within the Adult Stem Cell Program. Salary, rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Candidates must have a MD and must be board certified in Pediatrics and board eligible in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the time of hire. Candidates with a track record in designing and conducting early phase clinical trials with strong translational components are preferred. To be considered for the tenure-eligible position, candidates must have experience in basic or clinical research and a strong interest in a career in academic medicine. To be considered for the tenured position, candidates must demonstrate scholarship and excellence in two domains consistent with the requirements for tenure in the School of Medicine.

The UVa Health System offers many opportunities for collaborative clinical and basic science research, an active clinical trials program, and is an NCI-designated Clinical Cancer Center. Research faculty with strong Immunotherapy and cancer vaccine background are housed in the new $70M Carter-Harrison Research building.

The University of Virginia Medical Center and Children's Hospital (including the new outpatient building) are located adjacent to the main university grounds of the University of Virginia.
