ACADEMIC (9 months)
Degree and Area of Specialization: Minimum of an MA in applied linguistics, linguistics, literature, education or related field required. PhD preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: Competence to teach Urdu through the third year required, with the ability to combine Urdu and Hindi at one of the three levels preferred. Prior experience in teaching both Urdu and Hindi as a foreign and/or heritage language at the tertiary level as well as experience with proficiency-based teaching materials development is preferred.
Position Summary: Teach three levels of Urdu in the fall and spring semesters using performance-based approaches. The qualified candidate is expected to conduct combined Urdu-Hindi instruction at one of the three levels in both fall and spring semesters.

- A document that verifies superior fluency in Urdu and Hindi, such as Official ACTFL certification or a reference letter from an expert.
