Position Information
The overall purpose of the Per Diem Nurse is to provide patient care in general and complex cases, which requires the exercise of professional judgment. This requires the recognition of non-routine patient care situations, which have less predictable outcomes. The Per Diem Nurse will provide assistance to the doctors and leadership to the medical assistants.

Minimum Requirements
Skills and knowledge required for a Licensed Registered Nurse according to the standards of practice in accordance with the laws of the State of California.

Ability to relate well with patients and staff as a provider of health information, with an ability to teach health related classes or make health presentations in a variety of settings

Ability to work independently and in compliance with policies, protocols, and procedures of UCR.

Flexibility in working with a variety of ethnic, religious, and life-style backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner.

Skills and knowledge to perform: emergency triage, use of 02 tank, liquid nitrogen, EKG, IV therapy, spirometry, audiometry, autoclave, ear lavage, fax machine, and computer.

Ability to administer immunizations, antigens, and other medications via oral, intravenous, subcutaneous, intradermal, or intramuscular.

Ability to provide/perform various types of dressing applications and changes, assisting with laceration repair or minor surgeries.

Ability to read, write, and correctly define medical terminology.

Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift and move 40 pounds. Appropriate manual dexterity to perform job tasks and duties safely and accurately.

College/University Health Experience

Womens Health and Contraceptive Management: Implant, OCP, IUD, LARC
