Position Information
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Housing, Resident Services, the Resident Services Building Manager (RSBM) provides general oversight for residential resources, facility conditions, access management, repair services, resident and guest relations, parking protocol, and provides support for staff recruitment and performance management at the Resident Services Office (RSO) of a Housing Services residential community. The RSBM ensures direct support for the Special Events & Tours Manager by assisting with the implementation of resident recruitment and retention activities, general outreach programs, Housing tour operations, student staff recruitment, training and development, and move-in/move-out events. The RSBM is a critical liaison for all residential community service providers and provides administrative support for the Assistant Director of Housing, Resident Services.

Minimum Requirements
Five years' administrative experience in an office environment providing administrative support to staff, customers, visitors, etc.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in a customer service oriented environment responding to and meeting/exceeding the needs of the customer. Skill and ability to understand, interpret and/or apply the department's/university's policies and procedures to customers and requests.

Skill in listening, anticipating and responding to the needs and/or requests of staff and customers. Ability to identify with the customers perspective and maintain a commitment to excellent customer service.

Experience in directing, organizing, and prioritizing workload to meet required deadlines and department objectives. Ability to organize tasks, documents, materials and systems with efficiency and accuracy. Skill and ability to maintain and oversee accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail.

Skill in making appropriate job decisions following established policies and procedures, or practices. Skill in independently researching questions and making appropriate recommendations, or making appropriate contacts for problem resolution. Skill in using professional and sound judgement to address issues or concerns.

Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to interact effectively with departmental staff as well as campus and outside community members. Interacts with tact and diplomacy at all times.

Proficient experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to compose, proofread, edit and/or approve grammatically correct and accurate correspondence, memos, flyers, presentations, etc. Ability to generate reports on a frequent basis or ad hoc as needed. Ability to oversee and maintain the departmental master calendar.

Knowledge of and/or experience with program coordination, event planning/coordination, outreach activities, etc. Ability to collaborate and/or serve as liaison or control point between the department and internal/external service providers.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, climb stairs at frequent intervals throughout the work day to accomplish duties and tasks at hand; or with reasonable accommodation as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing extensive administrative support in a higher education environment to students, residents, staff and faculty.

Experience in a lead or supervisory role responsible for hiring/staffing, training, directing work assignments, performance management, discipline and complaint resolution.

Knowledge of UC policies and procedures, protocols, systems, and other UC directives.

Knowledge of UCR Housing Services' policies and procedures, protocols and systems.

Bachelor's degree or education equivalent to college level coursework in a related field.
