Position Information
Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this position is responsible for development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of IT security policy for the central computing organization and the general campus. Ensure all policies/standards/procedures support compliance with UC Information Security Policy and other external requirements (e.g. HIPPA, PCI-DSS, FERPA). Monitors and analyzes changes in external regulations, legislation, advisories, alerts, vulnerabilities and UC policies for impact on the organization. Prepares and submits required reports to campus officials and external agencies.

Minimum Requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff; both verbally and in writing.
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Analytical/problem-solving skills.
Strong skills in analyzing and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals.
Knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Strong knowledge of information security standards/frameworks, (e.g. ISO/IEC 27000 series, NIST 800 series) and experience with rules and regulations related to information security and data protection (e.g. FERPA, HIPPA, PCI-DSS)
Broad knowledge of IT systems and technologies including hardware, software, computer networks (e.g. firewalls) and encryption
Knowledge of common IT security controls, processes and best practices
