The University of Kentucky, Department of Civil Engineering, invites applications for a tenure track faculty at the assistant/associate professor level positions in structural engineering. The selected candidate(s) will be encouraged to join the University of Kentucky on August 1, 2017. Candidates must hold an ABET accredited degree and a doctorate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; developing a strong, externally funded research program; and providing service to the university, the state, and the engineering profession.

The Department of Civil Engineering, housed within the College of Engineering, has an active faculty that is highly engaged in research with other academic and research units at the University. Interdisciplinary collaborations include various academic departments, as well as with industry and government agencies. The department is internationally known for water resources research and computer software developed by faculty members. The department has close partnership with the Kentucky Transportation Center, enabling students to study alongside practicing engineers. The CEPM program is supported through a number of dedicated endowments and extramural funding and is renowned for its research excellence. Our faculty are comprised of a diverse makeup of subspecialties, including construction, environment, geotechnical, graphics, materials, structures, transportation, and water resources.
