Assistant to the Sr. Associate Dean/Associate Deans
Farmer School of Business: Assistant to the Associate Deans to provide professional administrative support to the Sr. Associate Dean of the Farmer School of Business (“FSB”) and provide similar support to the Associate Dean. Performs a variety of complex administrative tasks requiring substantial discretion and independent judgment related to overseeing the daily administrative operations of the Sr. Associate Dean’s and Associate Dean’s office. The incumbent will have access to highly confidential nature regarding day-to-day operations and strategic planning of FSB. Therefore, discretion and privacy in handling this sensitive material is essential. Responsibilities include: preparation of internal and external correspondence, including drafting and/or editing original composed responses; provide in-depth research support for Senior Associate Dean and Associate Dean; coordinate for the division's AACSB re-accreditation continuous improvement review (CIR) process, including all communications to the team (travel, lodging, hospitality, etc.); faculty support for Promotion & Tenure packets in preparation for committee and Provost review; manage meetings and contact with Executive Committee, department chairs, directors, and faculty to include agenda and meeting preparations, coordinating communication and briefing materials; serve as support to the Associate Dean in the processing of curriculum review and proposals for the division; communicate proposals to committees and registrar for approval; serve as reviewer for Associate Dean regarding CAT, a comprehensive catalog system; serve as contact with divisional units regarding academic misconduct, including drafting appeal letters and sending final sanction to student and appropriate University offices under the Associate Dean's name; responsible for the Sr. Associate and Associate Deans' calendar with importance given to optimization of time; oversee operations of Sr. Associate and Associate Deans' offices while serving as first point of contact for office visitors. Anticipates and acts upon the office needs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of daily operations; arranges travel and prepare reimbursements and credit card reconciliations for the Sr. Associate and Associate Dean; other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Dean, Senior Associate Dean and Associate Dean. Require: one academic year of coursework in university or college courses; three years of experience supporting senior executive positions(s) or comparable academic position; two years of experience in higher education; excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse members of the university community and outside constituencies.
Desire: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; four or more years of experience supporting senior executive position(s) or comparable academic position; knowledge of Miami University’s systems including BannerWeb, 25 Live, and CAT.
