The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Associate to join the laboratory of Dr. Jason Papin to perform experiments and computational analysis in support of a recently funded grant from the Department of Defense. The individual will be responsible for leading the construction of a computational model of rat liver and kidney metabolism.
The incumbent must have received a Ph.D. degree in biology, biomedical engineering, or closely related discipline by the start date. A minimum of 1 year of experience in mammalian cell culture; standard molecular biology techniques; transcriptomic or proteomic profiling and programming in PYTHON, MATLAB, and/or R is required. The incumbent must also have knowledge of network analysis methods like FBA and experience using Microsoft Office and some computational analysis software.
