Duties: Supervises facilities management of Perelman Quadrangle (student center/conference center). Serves as the principal advisor for all VPUL facilities issues concerning the maintenance and renovations of Perelman Quadrangle (student union) and the University's Central Pool Classrooms. Work closely with VPUL Facilities event planning staff, Penn's department of Facilities and Real Estate Services, Office of the University Architect, the University Registrar, building administrators, faculty, architects, contractors, and technology consultants to improve VPUL facilities. Acts as second in command for the office of VPUL Facilities. Reports directly to the Executive Director of VPUL Facilities.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. Master's degree preferred. Student Union/conference center management/facility experience required. Computer skills (e.g., Word processing, database management, project management software) are desirable. Ability to work with minimal supervision, to set priorities, to elicit cooperation and coordination from various campus entities, and the ability to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with Perelman Quadrangle clients, diverse classroom users, external agencies and other University offices is necessary. Familiarity with a university environment with seven to ten years experience in supervising an active student union complex, office renovation and improvement, and basic construction of similar scope is helpful. Good organizational and keen observation skills in a facilities and maintenance management environment. Basic knowledge of the construction trades are required. Must be able to work flexible working hours, some nights and weekend work may be required. Ability to work well under conditions of stress is necessary.
