The University of Virginia Health System, Department of Neurological Surgery is searching for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Research. The position will be within the University's Gamma Knife Center.
Qualifications include a medical degree (M.D. or equivalent) and completion of a residency in neurosurgery. The applicants must have extensive experience in stereotactic radiosurgery and a track record for conducting clinical and translational research in this field. A proven history of publication in peer-reviewed neurological journals is required. Fellowship training in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery including radiosurgery is preferred.
Responsibilities include conducting extensive research in the field of stereotactic radiosurgery and supervising clinical and research fellows in the Gamma Knife Center. This research position will be combined with a part-time appointment as clinical faculty providing patient care services in outpatient clinic and Gamma Knife procedures.
