The Department of Medicine's Division of General, Geriatric, Palliative and Hospital Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks qualified Geriatric physicians for tenure ineligible Assistant or Associate Professor positions focused on clinical practice within affiliated life care communities in Charlottesville, VA. Responsibilities include clinical patient care, quality assessment and practice improvement, as well as medical education of Geriatric Medicine fellows, residents, and medical students in both the classroom and clinical settings. Leadership opportunities include Medical Directorship of Nursing Home and Assisted Living facilities at the Colonnades, a Sunrise Senior Living Community, which includes independent, assisted-living, skilled nursing, and long-term care residents.

Candidates for positions must be board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Board eligibility or board certification in Geriatrics by appointment start date is required. Special consideration may be given to candidates who are Certified Medical Directors or have previous leadership or administrative experience. Tenure-ineligible positions may qualify to convert to tenure-track at an appropriate time in the future consistent with the School of Medicine promotion and tenure guidelines and candidate qualifications.
