Certification Analyst - Beckley
West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), a part of the WVU system of campuses, is currently inviting employment applications for a Certification Analyst in Beckley, WV. This position is responsible for conducting and managing critical tasks, including degree audits, degree certifications, course transfers, applications of academic policy, and student data analysis. Additionally, the Certification Analyst will perform clerical, training, audit and administrative duties for the Registrar's Office.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
•Analyze and verify transcripts and student data based on institutional academic policy.
•Assist in training and managing staff to perform routine functions, such as course transfer and preparation of transcripts.
•Interpret rules and regulations dealing with academic Programs at WVU and WVU Tech.
•Answer questions regarding classes, registration, courses taken and degree certification.
•Prepare reports, tables, graphs and charts, and support efforts related to academic performance improvement and student success.
•Design forms and brochures, and assist with disseminating information related to records and registration to University communities.
•Develop a thorough understanding of software used to maintain student records, use the software accurately, and suggest improvements to its ability.
•Advise faculty and staff on policies and procedures and suggest improvements to these procedures.
•Process letters, travel requests, expense reports and student documents as needed.
Work Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Pay Grade: 16
•Bachelor’s degree in education or administration or a related field, OR an associate’s degree plus equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
•At least two (2) years of directly related experience
•Excellent communication skills, written and oral
•Ability to execute tasks in a timely fashion with near-zero error rates
•Dedication to customer service and the need for confidentiality
