Director of Parent Giving
The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth is seeking an experienced Annual Giving practitioner to create, energize, and lead the parent and athletic fundraising efforts in the newly created position of Director of Parent Giving. As lead for the parent’s program, the Director will create the strategic vision for Annual Giving parent and athletic fundraising; solicit parents and athletic prospective donors for leadership annual fund gifts, and coordinate with Advancement and University colleagues as well as parent and athletic volunteers on a wide range of leadership annual fundraising activities. The Director will collaborate closely with top-level University administrators, faculty, and volunteers to provide professional and strategic approaches to cultivating, soliciting and stewarding parents and athletic donors of a wide variety of philanthropic capacities including many of the highest capacity prospects for the University. The management philosophy in UMassD Advancement is one that seeks to minimize silos, so this individual will actively advise and participate in creating strategic direction for parent and athletic engagement. The university is investing in staff and resources for the advancement effort at UMassD, so this is a unique opportunity to build a parent and athletics fundraising program using best practices and techniques – all with the support of the senior leadership team of the university. UMassD is located in beautiful South Coast Massachusetts with easy access to the ocean, beaches, Cape Cod, Providence RI and the bustling cities of Fall River and New Bedford.
