Nature of Work
Provide a high quality, high availability telephony environment by implementation and operation of the SIP infrastructure and associated data network, including disaster recovery planning and testing.
Proficient in current Avaya Aura Platform
Administration, Version 6.x and 7.x
-Proficient in current Avaya Contact Center and associated application Administration
-Detailed knowledge of Avaya Session Manager, System Manger & SIPtechnologies
-Knowledge of Avaya Aura messaging platforms
-Possess in depth knowledge of Avaya voice related applications specific to Unified Communications, Contact Centers (i.e. ACD, Experience Portal, CTI,CMS, Omni-channel, etc.) and Back office.
-Understanding of Avaya related mobile technologies
-Understanding of Dial Plans, & carrier related technologies, E.164
-Knowledge of H.323 & SIP protocols including QoS understanding
-Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIPv1&2), Switching architecture and protocols (VLAN’s, Trunking and Spanning Tree)
-Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans in response to University telecommunications needs and opportunities.
-Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues throughout the corporation.
-Ability to work with and manage third parties/vendors.
-Able to multitask and prioritize to meet required schedules; exercise prudent time management.
-Ability to work within a tight time-frame and hard deadlines.
-Ability to contribute to multiple programs with effective delegation skills.
-A flexible working style, able to change direction as the business needs change.
-Participate in a 24×7×365 on-call rotation
-Experience working in a data-center / large enterprise environment
-Design for capacity, security, continuity, and availability management
-Demonstrated ability to work on critical production systems
-Strong troubleshooting skills
Current Avaya or Cisco industry certifications.
Knowledge of Nortel, Avaya and Cisco interoperability.
Experience with Nortel and Avaya legacy PBX systems.
$61,366 minimum - $94,753 midpoint
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This position must be able to lift 40 pounds and work under somewhat adverse conditions at times. Office environment. This position is expected to comply with the University’s standard working hours. In addition, this position must be available outside of normal working hours, including nights and weekends, to complete routine system maintenance, respond to emergency system outages, or serve in the department 7×24 on call rotation.

Bachelor degree, with a technical major, such as computer science or computer engineering. Five years minimum of strong technical experience in implementing and operating a voice and data communication solution. Detailed knowledge of VoIP and SIP technologies. Must have exceptional time management skills, be customer oriented and strong organizational and coordination skills
