Mathematics Instructor, FT Tenure Track
The Mathematics department is seeking a diverse individual with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching who can teach a variety of courses within the department from Developmental Arithmetic to Differential Equations. In addition to teaching responsibilities the Math Instructor is expected to be dedicated to students' learning and success. Instructor must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising and other duties as assigned.
This instructor will be expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives.
Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both.
Requirements: Master's degree in Pure or Applied Mathematics. Three years of college-level teaching experience and knowledge of current instructional technologies; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: Involvement in student support activities such as advising and club supervision; interest and/or experience in distance learning; competence in use of technology; ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationship with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public; ability to manage multiple projects; bilingual skills.
