Duties: The candidate will oversee Tissue Culture operations in a Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory and will be responsible for daily management of the Tissue Culture unit including (i) management of supplies/equipment (including serum heat inactivation, stocking supplies, biosafety cabinet decontamination, incubator cleaning), (ii) cell line maintenance and preparation for preclinical studies, (iii) mycoplasma testing of samples, (iv) cryopreservation of cells, (v) management of tissue and cell electronic freezer databases, and (vi) protocol development for tissue culture assays. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for operation of automated immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence staining. This will require trafficking of samples to histology core facilities and collaborators. In addition, the candidate will be required to learn new experimental techniques that will be applied to tissue analyses. The candidate will conduct studies related to organoids and hisotological analysis of mouse and human specimens as well as oversee analysis of tissue staining conducted in the laboratory. The candidate will be required to prepare routine reports on research progress.

The candidate should have strong prior experience with flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, culture of organoids, and tissue culture.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic/motivation, meticulous organizational skills, outstanding laboratory technique and strong social/communication skills.

Qualifications: The candidate must have a Bachelor's in science and 3-5 years of prior laboratory experience, preferably as a Lab Manager, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree or coursework towards a Master's degree is a plus. Prior experience in the conduct of laboratory experiments, specifically immunohistochemistry, microscopy, flow cytometry and qRT-PC, are required. He/she must be capable of both independent work and managing research teams. Advanced computer skills in Excel, Powerpoint, word processing and data presentation are required. Attention to detail, initiative, and strong organizational/record-keeping skills as well as strong communication/social skills are necessary.
