POSITION SUMMARY:   

The Campus Clinical Coordinator (CCC) is the liaison for Brandman University and school districts for placing credential candidates in clinical settings.  The CCC oversees and maintains the University Clinical Supervisors and their assignments.  The CCC will be the leader in arranging and developing fieldwork seminars for education credential candidates. The CCC will serve as an integral member of the campus education team, working closely with education programs faculty and staff to assure maximum service to credential and internship candidates.  The CCC maintains a close working relationship with the Central Office, providing documents and other information.  

TYPE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Limited supervision. The campus director provides or shares supervision of  employees at the campus, assuring the orderly and efficient management of the campus.  Programmatic supervision is provided by the Brandman State Chair for Education Clinical Services.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Essential functions:  80% of time

  • Liaison with local school districts.  Identify and contact schools/districts to place student teachers and other education credential candidates, in accordance with CTC requirements and placement of candidates.        
  • Collaborate with OneStop staff and Faculty Services staff in processing student teacher/internship/fieldwork  application and registration.      
  • Identify, recruit, recommend for hiring and termination of University Clinical Supervisors
  • Assign University Clinical Supervisors to fieldwork students
  • Participate in training of  University Clinical Supervisors
  • Follow up on (a) University Clinical Supervisors and their evaluations of candidates; (b) Candidates and their evaluations of University Clinical Supervisors and district supervisors, i.e., master teachers; (c) District supervisors and their evaluations of candidates and University Clinical Supervisors  
  • Provide pay requests for University Clinical Supervisors, District supervisors  and Master Teachers to Central Office
  • Maintain spreadsheets for education candidates to assure all are placed in clinical settings upon completion of course work, CTC requirements, and university requirements.
  • Conduct orientation with University Clinical Supervisors and candidates prior to commencing fieldwork so that all are aware of expectations as described in the Clinical Experience Handbook for Student Teachers.  
  • Responsible for coordinating and facilitating Student Teacher Seminars and Supervisor Meetings throughout the year.
  • In coordination with the University Clinical Supervisor, the district supervisor/master teacher, counsel and develop action plans for candidates who are experiencing difficulty in fieldwork.  Notify the Brandman State Chair for Education Clinical Services as to the additional support being provided, and the response to it.
  • Responsible for generating and reviewing of internship and fieldwork agreements to ensure they are current. Collaborating with Brandman Irvine campus to get agreements signed in a timely manner.
  • Identify school districts needing agreements and notify the Central Office of any changes or issues.
  • Assist and participate in annual Credential Celebration.
  • Participate in monthly Education Team meetings and bi-annual Education Advisory Board meetings. 

 

Previous Experience:  

Required: 

  • California Teaching Credential  at the K-12 level requiring a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Working with credential candidates in a university setting
  • Developing and maintaining data bases
  • Working effectively within a collaborative environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in appropriate field
  • Current California administrative services credential
  • K-12 administration experience, preferably as a principal or superintendent

Knowledge and Education:  The CCC is part of a vibrant education team that is focused on producing high quality teachers, school administrators, school counselors and psychologists for the 21st Century.  Knowledge of CTC Common Standards and Program Standards, as they apply to clinical fieldwork, is required.  A working knowledge of the CalTPAs is also required.  Minimal education requirement is a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
