Duties: Serves as a resource to departmental faculty and administrators regarding policies and procedures relating to faculty employment, e.g. recruitment, appointments, reappointments, promotions, extensions, sabbaticals, reduction in duties, and other leaves. Assists department with issues relating to faculty recruitment, including proactive planning, ad placement, formal search letters, and search documentation; ensures that search and recruitment process is in compliance with GSE and University AA/EEO guidelines. Assists Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs and Diversity, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, in ensuring that faculty appointment, reappointment and promotion issues are being addressed in a timely manner. Uses online applications and databases (FIS) to manage departmental faculty information and faculty processes and procedures. Facilitates the completion and timely submission of complete and accurate dossiers for faculty appointment, reappointment, and promotion to FIS in a timely manner; submits accurate paperwork for other faculty actions including but not limited to terminations, sabbaticals, etc. Keeps up-to-date with University and GSE policies and procedures relating to faculty recruitment and employment. Reviews online dissertation submissions via Proquest to ensure that student dissertations are in compliance with university and APA requirements. Provides feedback to students to assist them to adhere to standards.
Note: This is a two year term position with a possibility for extension.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience strongly preferred. High School diploma/GED and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets, Power Point and Outlook required. The ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and priorities as well as excellent interpersonal skills is required. Excellent written and oral communications skills and organization skills required. Prior success previously supporting academic departments and experience with Penn's Faculty Information System (FIS) preferred.
