Job Description
Under general supervision, the associate director for Fraternity and Sorority Life is responsible for Panhellenic recruitment and orientation activities. They will also advise the College Panhellenic Association overseeing academic success initiatives for all fraternity and sorority members. They will develop and implement public relations efforts for the community at the University of South Carolina. Serves as a member of the on-call duty rotation and will supervise property managers.

Knowledge of the basic principles and theories of student development, leadership theory and public relations. Ability to interact with internal and external constituents and community partners on a regular basis. Experience planning and executing special events and one-time programs. Ability to interpret and apply policy and procedure as it applies to program coordination and implementation. Coordinates multiple high level tasks simultaneously with high degree of attention to detail.


Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Personnel Services or related field and 3 years related experience, or bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience.

This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement / hazardous weather and other emergencies. In addition, this position requires a variable work schedule.

Knowledge/Skills/Expertise:
Knowledge of the basic principles and theories of student development, leadership theory and public relations. Ability to interact with internal and external constituents and community partners on a regular basis. Experience planning and executing special events and one-time programs. Ability to interpret and apply policy and procedure as it applies to program coordination and implementation. Preferred Qualifications
Membership in a Greek organization is strongly preferred. Experience in the areas of curriculum or program development, fraternity/sorority operations, advisement, publications, and computer skills are strongly preferred. Fraternity/sorority leadership consultant experience or experience at a national headquarters office is strongly preferred.
