General Summary: The College of Health Sciences & Professions at the University of North Georgia is expanding to offer a unique program in Interdisciplinary Health Care. This program embodies concentrations and certificates in health care administration and health informatics with a planned offering in population health. Health care and health-related jobs are among the top jobs for the areas served by multiple UNG campuses. Georgia is known as the health information state with a strong presence in health information management. The college is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as the program head and faculty. The program head will provide curricular development, administrative direction and oversight for the evolving program in Interdisciplinary Health Care and the proposed program in Health Care Services and Information Administration.

The College of Health Sciences & Professions offers both Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science and Post-Master's Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner, a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Our laboratories and clinics are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, including a simulation hospital on our Gainesville campus. We have highly qualified faculty members, many with clinical specializations and inter-professional research experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the areas of Health Information Technology and/or Health Care Management and Administration


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience in population health and medical tourism is a plus
  • Strong written, oral, and electronic communication skills
  • Contemporary knowledge of evolving health delivery and reimbursement policy
  • Understanding of the role health informatics plays in practice management
  • Curriculum planning and course development
  • Experience in on-line learning and course delivery
  • Experience in medical and/or group practice organization and administration is strongly preferred


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • The qualified candidate must have a terminal degree (doctorate) in Health Care Administration or Management, Health Information Management or directly related disciplines
  • Successful applicants should have an established record of scholarship, teaching, and program administration
  • Curriculum development experience with evidence of effective teaching in both face-to-face and online is essential
