Required Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent. Four years postgraduate training in Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine and completion/pending completion of an approved pain management fellowship. Licensure/eligibility for licensure as a physician in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience in an outpatient chronic pain management center. Candidates for advanced academic standing would be expected to provide evidence of research experience.
Responsibilities & Requirements: The Assistant, Associate or Full Professor will be responsible for providing pain management services in an outpatient setting to patients who suffer from chronically debilitating pain. The candidate will be actively engaged in the instruction and/or supervision of medical students and resident physicians. The successful incumbent will also participate in the departmental activities that pertain to undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate education. An active role in clinical and/or basic research will be strongly encouraged. Senior faculty that are recruited will be expected to play an important role in the administrative aspects of the Department/division, pertaining to the initiation of grant support, design of research projects and organizational aspects pertaining to the clinical and educational goals of the Department.
Special Notes: Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated start date: As soon as possible. To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor or Professor, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine ( School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
