PROVOST OF THE COLLEGE/ VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Wesleyan College, founded in 1836 to grant degrees for women, invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Provost is the chief academic officer of the College and supervises academic affairs, strategic enrollment management and international programming. Reporting directly to the President, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the second ranking officer of the College who manages its daily operations. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, developing academic programs, outcomes assessment and fiscal decision-making.
Qualifications for this position include an earned doctorate, a distinguished record of scholarly achievement meriting appointment as a tenured professor, successful college teaching experience, substantial administrative experience in higher education, demonstrable success in managing diverse projects and people, and substantive experience in program development and assessment. The successful candidate is an energetic and inspirational leader who is committed to women’s education, values diversity, encourages excellence, stimulates innovation, fosters open and effective communication and has a proven record of inclusive leadership. Other important qualities include creativity, collegiality, and a sense of humor.
