Technical Analyst will analyze and gather information from databases to solve computer problems, test and implement cost-effective solutions long term projects, provide technical support and training to faculty and staff for efficient daily operation for school.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (For Non-exempt Employees Include Percent of Effort):

· Discusses systems’ problems with managers and users to determine their exact nature; defines the goals of the system and the steps necessary to achieve them

· Uses techniques such as structured analysis, mathematical model building, and cost analysis to plan the system and needed modifications

· Provides insights and integration to various data sources gather by the school and the university to the school administrators

· Determines necessary data to be entered and processing procedures, and also structures the output to achieve users’ needs

· Prepares diagrams and exhibits to explain the proposed system to managers and users in understandable format

· After acceptance of proposal, draws up specifications, diagrams, and charts for technical engineers to follow

· Implements and deploys Cloud Based Services for faculty research and teaching needs

· Provides budget and project cost projections for the department, controlling cost projections for the fiscal year to meet expectations from the IT Director

· Prepares a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether implementation of project is financially feasible

· Provide third level of support for the Service Desk

· Manage ongoing projects assigned by the IT director

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills including Office Excel and PowerPoint

· Cloud Services Competency (Office365, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive)

· Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate well with others

· Ability to work independently or as a member of a team

· Technical Certifications Preferred

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (no equivalent work experience)

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

· One year of related work experience. MIS or technical support experience is highly preferred.

· Analytics and database experience preferred
