The Academic Assistant in the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Physical Therapy Common Application System database (PTCAS) for the Northeastern University Post-Baccalaureate DPT program. This includes the following: verifying all components of the application and organizing the applications within the database to prepare for reviewing; determine if the applicant has fulfilled prerequisites, by examining the transcripts and/or as needed verifying content at the individual institution; assigning the individual applicants to admission reviewers for evaluation; assist with organization of the data and dissemination of the decisions once the committee review is complete; follow up with applicants from decision through matriculation (i.e. monitoring receipt of required materials). The Academic Assistant
will work collaboratively with the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences Administrative Assistant and the Graduate Admissions Committee to accomplish all tasks. Email and phone communication will be required to assist prospective students with questions about the program as well as the application process. This is a part-time, 28 hours per week, benefits eligible position.
Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum of 2+ years of experience in database management. Must maintain strict standards of confidentiality. Ability to work under supervision, independently, and as part of a team. Ability to organize work, define priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail. The applicant must have demonstrated competence in key software/computer technologies (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
