Assistant Professor of Music/Voice (Tenor/Baritone/Bass Preferred)
Full-time, tenure-track appointment for Assistant Professor of Music/Voice (tenor/baritone/bass preferred). The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine a strong, continuing performance resume with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. Ideal candidates will have a developing reputation as a voice teacher and be responsible for teaching undergraduate students, both majors and non-majors, in concordance with the college’s commitment to music in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate may also teach in related areas such as diction, vocal pedagogy, vocal repertoire and opera workshop, with the possibility of teaching other courses within the college according to areas of expertise. The ability to teach and recruit undergraduate students while remaining active as a performing artist is expected. The Music Department is interested in applicants who have had experience working with diverse populations. A willingness to serve in a collegial manner within the department and across the college is valued.
Doctorate preferred, ABD considered. Demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching and vocal performance required.
