The Department of Physical Sciences in the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor of Physics to begin fall 2017.
Teaching responsibilities for this position include introductory physics for undergraduates (engineering, non-majors, and/or pre-med students). The successful candidate will have opportunity to develop at least one additional upper division course according to the expertise of the candidate and the needs of the department. Other duties typically assigned to WVU Tech faculty include: service on committees, academic advising, and curriculum development. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program involving undergraduate students and write grants to support this program. The Department seeks a candidate who will demonstrate exemplary communication skills, collegiality, and the ability to contribute to the intellectual and cultural life of WVU Tech.

A Ph.D. in Physics by August 11, 2017 is required. The Search Committee is particularly interested in individuals who can communicate effectively with groups of undergraduates having a variety of interests, backgrounds and career aspirations, including engineering. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required.
