Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost, Professional and Continuing Studies, the Computing Operations Manager oversees the computer and network needs of the Office of Graduate and Professional Education (OGPE) and the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) at multiple locations. This position recommends and implements the IT strategy to support all units, programs and projects.

Specific Responsibilities include:

Managing two Computing Support Specialists, one administrative assistant, and outside for desktop-level support vendors. Assuming, ultimate responsibility for server configuration, upgrades, patches, connectivity, software, IT procurement and escalated end user support.

Participating in RFPs. Managing DNS, file, FTP, RDS, and MIS systems (Destiny One and CampusCE); desktop and laptop computers; online course development software; Proctored Testing Center thin client terminals; and monitoring software (Schoolvue). Recommending, developing, and initiating policies, procedures, and programs and ensure IT systems adhere to UD Policies and Procedures. Developing, managing, and administering a secure network environment consistent. Overseeing the development, upgrade, deployment, and administration of hardware platforms involving both wired and wireless technologies. Maintaining critical partnerships with Information Technologies (IT), the central computing organization on campus.

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years' experience directly related to position responsibilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.. Experience administering and monitoring Microsoft servers, Active Directory, Ghost Enterprise, Oracle and SQL. Microsoft certification preferred. Knowledge of technical systems security, responsible use, and workstation setup and maintenance. Effective communication of technical information to non-technical users is required.
