Duties: The candidate will act as Lab Manager for a Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory and will be responsible for daily operations in the lab including (i) managing/operating equipment (Freezers, Coulter Counter, Flow Cytometer, Automated Tissue Stainer, Tissue Culture Incubators) (ii) managing financial operations (e.g. ordering, obtaining quotes, monitoring invoices, shipping, and maintaining financial records in the lab), (iii) overseeing biosafety/EHRS compliance and training requirements of lab members, (iv) management of students in the lab, and (v) managing projects in the lab (industry, foundation, and government funded).

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in science and 1-3 years of prior laboratory experience as a Lab Manager, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Master's degree preferred. Prior experience in the conduct of laboratory experiments, specifically immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and qRT-PC, and small animal research (mice) is required. He/she must be capable of both independent work and managing research teams. Advanced computer skills in Excel, Powerpoint, word processing and data presentation are required. Attention to detail, initiative, and strong organizational/record-keeping skills as well as exceptional communication/social skills are necessary
Prior training in mouse colony maintenance (genotyping and husbandry) as well as animal study conduct (e.g. caliper measurements, subcutaneous and intraperitoneal injections) is preferred as the candidate will work closely with the Animal Specialist in the laboratory to assist in daily operations in the animal facility. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic/motivation and prior experience in ordering and management of financial operations in the lab.
