Essential functions of this position:
This position is an employee of the Landscape Services Unit and performs general grounds maintenance to include trash pickup, new landscaping, irrigation repair, edging, pruning, mowing, general manicuring of all campus properties, parking lot maintenance and other associated duties as determined by supervisor or administration. Also, functions as a working crew leader for the landscaping of new areas and general grounds maintenance of improved land areas.
All facilities staff are considered essential personnel in the case of emergency event or weather crisis and may be asked to work outside of normal schedule & subject to overtime.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
A working knowledge of landscape maintenance and ability to operate large and small equipment
Ability to follow directions and learn new skills while on the job
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Agricultural background and background in maintenance of equipment, sidewalks and roadways is preferred
Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position:
NC Drivers’ License
Recruitment Range: $22,500 - $24,500
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 50
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
