Department Marketing Statement
The Department of Biological Sciences is composed of 23 full-time and 7 part-time faculty members with expertise across a broad spectrum of biological disciplines. We have a strong commitment to providing research opportunities and experience to our undergraduate students in addition to excellent classroom and laboratory instruction. As our university grows, our department is developing new programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and new faculty will have the opportunity to contribute to their design and delivery.
We invite applications for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer to begin in August 2017 in the Department of Biological Sciences of Augusta University. Augusta University boasts a student body of just under 9000 diverse members and nearly 1200 faculty members committed to providing leadership and excellence in teaching, discovery, clinical care, and service as a student-centered comprehensive research university and academic health center.
Successful candidates will hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in a discipline of Biological Science and have the ability to teach courses such as Fundamentals of Biology, Environmental Biology, Principles of Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics and/or Cell and Molecular Biology. A terminal degree and prior experience teaching at the college level is preferred. Additional responsibilities will include academic advising and some committee service.
Academic rank, tenure status and salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
